Minden NV – Pine Nuts staging

Elevation: 5,685′

Description:  Pine Nuts staging area is about 180 miles from Livermore and takes about 4 hours at 60 MPH.  This is a dry camping area, with no pit toilets.  Note that the staging area is 8.5 miles ESE from downtown Garnerville, NV.

Directions:

1. From the San Francisco Bay Area, take 580 East to 205, and then follow 205 until it turns into I-5 North.
2. Stay in the right lane on I-5 and exit on 120 East.
3. Exit Highway 120 and go north at Highway 99.
4. Exit Highway 99 and go east at Highway 88.
5. Follow Highway 88 to and through the town of Jackson.
6. Continue on Highway 88 over the summit, down the hill, across the state line, and up Highway 88 for 4.4 miles past state line.
   
7. Turn right on NV-756 E/Centerville Ln.  and follow NV 756 E as it turns left at Pleasantview Dr/Rubio Way.
   
8. NV-756 E continues on as Dresslerville Rd and Riverview Dr. 
   
9. Stay on the same road and cross Highway 395.
10. After 0.2 miles, turn right at the traffic circle onto Pinenut Rd. Travel down this road for 2.2 miles.
    
11. Turn left on Pinenut Rd 2. Stay on this road for 4 miles.
12. Staging area will be on the right.  Staging is about 300 feet down from the Pinyon Trail.

• The Carson Valley Inn, Minden, NV, a Hotel, Casino and RV Resort, located about 11 miles (22 minutes) from the staging area.  
• Quality Inn, 1795 Ironwood Dr., Minden, NV, 89423, 775-782-7766, about a block north on 395 from Highway 88.
